WSM Pride is a community-led celebration of LGBTQ+ people, their lives, their stories and their place in our town.
We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted and proud of who they are. Pride is about celebrating how far we've come, recognising the challenges that still exist and building a community where nobody feels they have to hide who they are.
Above all, WSM Pride is about bringing people together.
Our Mission
Weston-super-Mare Pride exists to celebrate, support and empower LGBTQ+ people in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding communities.
Our mission is to create a welcoming, inclusive and accessible space where LGBTQ+ people can be themselves, connect with others and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Through celebration, education, community events and partnerships, we aim to increase LGBTQ+ visibility, challenge discrimination, promote equality and help make Weston-super-Mare a safer, kinder and more inclusive place for everyone.
Our Story
Pride has its roots in protest. The rights and freedoms that LGBTQ+ people enjoy today were hard won by generations of people who stood up against discrimination and demanded to be treated equally. That history remains at the heart of everything we do.
Here in Weston-super-Mare, we believe our LGBTQ+ community deserves to be seen, heard and celebrated.
Weston Pride has grown through the hard work, determination and enthusiasm of local volunteers, community groups, performers, businesses and supporters who share a belief that our town should be a welcoming place for everyone.
In 2026, around 1,600 people joined us to celebrate Pride in Weston-super-Mare. It was a wonderful day filled with music, colour, friendship and community spirit. The event also attracted regional media coverage and showed just how much support there is for LGBTQ+ people in our town.
But our story isn't just about the event itself. It's about the connections we make, the people who find somewhere they belong and the community we continue to build together.
And we're only just getting started.
